I hope all is well as we break out of this nightmare pandemic.
1. I am happy to announce that we started the Ricmon Music School www.ricmonmusicshcool.com only 2 weeks ago and I am seeking professional instructors of all instruments and producers (sound engineers to teach Pro Tools and how to produce great tracks, recordings). As most of you know, I have developed my guitar instruction methods and business over the past 27 years. Fortunately, my private business has picked up dramatically and I must build my roster of instructors now that we have started the music school. I am confident that I can offer a better hourly rate than most any school or music store to the instructors. As you may know most schools pay the instructors low wages and most musicians are on the low end of the economic ladder. It’s a sacrifice to be a musician for a living but the world certainly is a better place with music. Most of the lessons will be at student’s homes but can also take place in the instructor’s studio or homebase or virtually online from anywhere in the world (this pandemic has really opened up everyone’s eyes to ZOOM type lessons).
Please, refer me to any instructors or interested people in lessons that you may know.
2. Importantly; I am creating a Non-Profit corporation so that my school can accept donations for individuals that want to help underprivileged students receive an endowment of free lessons from the school. This is something that can really help the school in many ways and help children/people that have the desire to study but not the means. Since our lessons are at the higher end of the pay scale, it will exclude many people due to financial limitations. Most musicians I know are in this category, so we will be helping people just like us! I LOVE THIS IDEA and can see it being a wonderful thing for everyone involved. So, pass this email on to anyone that might have interest in donating to the school for this purpose Plus, it’s an honest tax writeoff.
Thanks very much and remember, “It takes a great musician to be a great instructor but not all great musicians are great instructors!” It takes work to become a top notch instructor BUT I am happy to share my methods and procedures with any beginner instructors who are serious. If they love music and teaching then they can possibly create a good additional revenue stream. And artists are always in need of more revenue streams than just performing, even national artists!
